Lookup St. Clair County Inmate Records

St. Clair County inmate records start with the sheriff's jail roster for people booked into county custody in Alabama. A St. Clair County jail roster search can show current and released jail entries, booking photos, charges, bond notes, and profile details when the person is in the local jail system. Sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates, and immigration detainees are searched through different official systems. Look up St. Clair County inmates by first deciding whether the person is in the county jail, an Alabama state prison, or a federal custody channel.

St. Clair County Jail Roster

The official St. Clair County inmate roster is run through the sheriff's website and is the primary public channel for local jail custody. It is free and public, with no login or payment observed. A disclaimer overlay may appear before the roster opens. That disclaimer says the information is gathered from public sources and maintained for convenience, but it cannot be certified as accurate or current by the sheriff or detention center.

Use the roster for people booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City. It is not the right tool for an ADOC prisoner at St. Clair Correctional Facility, a federal inmate, or a person held by ICE. If the jail record shows a hold, a zero bond, or a recent court change, call the Detention Center at 205-814-3525 because the public profile warning says charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances.

Use the St. Clair County Inmate Roster

The roster is built around current, released, and archived entries. A name search is useful when spelling is known. Date sorting is better when the arrest is recent and the spelling is uncertain. Similar names can appear, so age, booking date, booking number, and arresting agency should be compared before relying on a result.

  1. Open the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office inmate roster.
  2. Read and accept the roster disclaimer if the site displays it.
  3. Select Current for active jail custody, Released for recent releases, or Archived Inmates for older roster entries.
  4. Use Search By Name, or browse by Date and sort newest to oldest.
  5. Open View Profile to check the booking number, charges, bond, release date, and VINELink icon.
  6. Call 205-814-3525 before posting bond or acting on a charge, hold, or case-number detail.

St. Clair County Roster Search Fields

The roster does not publish wildcard rules, a minimum character count, or a refresh schedule. Start broad, then narrow. If a name search fails, use date browsing for recent bookings or the released and archived links for past custody. The sheriff's mobile app also advertises an inmate roster and daily inmate roster notifications.

The official roster page displays the search and sort controls used for St. Clair County inmate records.

St. Clair County Inmate Profile Fields

A roster profile is a booking record summary, not a full court file. The sample profile inspected on May 27, 2026 showed one mugshot, a VINELink icon, a booking number, age, gender, race, arresting agency, booking date, release date, charge text, bond, and a bail warning. It did not show height, weight, date of birth, home address, housing unit, court date, case number, charge statute, judge, or projected release date.

St. Clair County Inmate Access Channels

Every custody search should use the channel that matches the person's legal status. The sheriff roster is the first stop for a new local jail booking. The detention phone line is the fallback when bond, charges, recent release, or a hold may have changed. In-person help is available through the jail lobby and sheriff offices, while historical booking records and mugshots outside the roster use the public-records process.

Booking Process in St. Clair County

The sheriff does not publish a full intake manual, but the roster and Corrections page show the main custody flow. A local agency arrests or transfers the person, the person is brought to the St. Clair County Jail if committed locally, and the jail records a booking number, booking date, identity fields, arresting agency, charge text, bond, and photo. The Corrections page also references booking photo and fingerprinting.

After booking, court action can change the charge, bond, or release status. A roster record may show failure to appear, probation violation, fugitive entry, another-county hold, or a $0.00 bond. Those entries do not always mean release is available. For formal case charges after arrest, use the 30th Judicial Circuit and Alacourt channels, not just the jail roster.

St. Clair County Visitation Rules

The sheriff's current Corrections page did not publish a formal in-person visitation schedule. It does state that inmate phone deposits and video visitation appointments may be made through InmateSales.com, and that Combined Public Communications provides jail phone service. Because no official in-person schedule was located, avoid relying on unofficial Saturday or Sunday lists. Call the jail before travel.
