Are St. Clair County Mugshots Public?
Alabama research for St. Clair County supports public access to core jail roster and prisoner-book information, plus a sheriff records request route for specific existing records. No official Alabama statute located for this project uses the word mugshot as a separate release category. The local practical answer is narrower: a booking photo posted on the sheriff roster can be viewed while it remains posted, and a missing booking photo may be requested from the sheriff as a public record if the requester follows Alabama and sheriff rules.
Alabama Code Section 36-22-8 requires sheriffs to keep a public jail or prisoner book with identifying and custody information for people received into county jail. Alabama Code Section 14-6-1 places legal custody and charge of the county jail and prisoners with the sheriff. Those jail-specific rules work with public-record statutes, but they do not mean every photo, juvenile record, investigative file, or sealed court record must be online.

St. Clair County Mugshot Removal
No St. Clair County policy was found saying the sheriff automatically removes every booking photo after dismissal, acquittal, release, or expungement.
